Leagues: St. Giles participates in the Classic league for our main basketball league. They host a number of other catholic elementary schools from the Chicago-land area. All Classic League home games will be played in the St. Giles Gym, and all away games will be played at any of the Classic League competitor schools. Girls may also participate in 1 other league or 2 tournaments at the coaches discretion.
Practices & Games: Practice and Classic League games will be held primarily during the week (Monday through Friday) with some Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons. Participation will be 2-4 days per week. It will be at the coaches discretion to create squads for teams with a larger number of participants. Pre-season camp will begin in the 2nd week of October.
You can find schedules for your child's team under the "Teams" tab on the horizontal list at the top of the page. Simply scroll over "Teams," move to "Choose Team," then "winter" and select either 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade girls basketball. Along with a schedule you will find a roster of your child's team mates.
For a list of game and practice locations please take a look at the Facilities tab on the vertical list of tabs (left hand side).
Price: $180 for registration through October 10 (beginning October 11, a $25 late fee will be added to all registrations). You will be required to be paid in full for the season before you will be permitted to play.
To Register: Please click on the RED "Register Now" button on the home page. If you do not see a Register Now button, registration has closed, please contact the Athletic Director for further information.
Registration Dates & Deadline: September 10 - October 10.
Uniforms: All uniforms will be issued at a practice . Uniforms will need to be returned. At the end of the season, uniforms will be collected at a uniform return night. If you cannot make this night, you must make an appointment with the Athletic Director to return your jersey (you may NOT return your jersey to the school office). *Any jersey that is not returned will be subject to a $75 replacement fee.
Volunteer Requirements: All families are required to volunteer for 4 hours during the season. Volunteer help is needed at the spring Athletic Fun Lunch, helping at concessions during the game, helping work the score board and being a team manager.
