2021 SPL Cross Country Kickoff Meet (#1)

 

Welcome to the first meet of the 2021 Suburban Parochial League season hosted by Saints Peter and Paul, St. Raphael, and All Saints Catholic Academy at May Watts Park in Naperville.  There is a lot of information to comprehend below, so I would STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you forward this letter directly to your parents.

 

Meet Details

Date: Saturday, September 4th, 2021

Location: May Watts Park, 800 S Whispering Hills Dr, Naperville, IL 60540

First Race: 9:00 AM

Coaches/Course Marshall’s Meeting:  8:15 AM (@ the starting line)

Coaches’ Parking:  May Watts School Parking Lot (East side of school)

 

Parking:

There is limited parking in the school parking lot that can be accessed on the South side of the school.  If there is no parking available in the school lot, parents may drop off their athletes and then find parking along Whispering Hills Dr. or one of the other side streets around May Watts School.  Please respect the area neighbors and do not block driveways or park in illegal areas.  Naperville Police will ticket and possibly tow for any cars parked illegally.

 

Race Lengths and Time Limits and order:

 

5th Grade:  1 mile

6th Grade:  1 ½ miles

7th and 8th Grade:  2 miles

 

5th Grade:  12 minutes

6th Grade:  18 minutes

7th and 8th Grade:  24 minutes

Tents:

The tent set-up area will be next to the parking lot on the East side of the school. (see map below)

 

Bathrooms:

Port-o-Potties will be available at the course.

 

Concessions:

No concessions will be done on site.  Please make sure your athletes have plenty of water as we expect a warm day.

 

Other Meet Notes:

Spectators are welcome to watch from different points throughout the course.  However, spectators are reminded to please adhere to the directions of the course marshals and officials.  Please respect the grounds and pick up any trash.
